Ductless Mini-Split Installation Toronto

Heat and cool any room without tearing up walls for ductwork. Single-zone and multi-zone systems, all major brands. Installed in one day.

Mini-Split Systems We Install

The outdoor unit is the same regardless — it's the indoor unit style and zone configuration that changes based on your needs.

Single-Zone System

One outdoor compressor connected to one wall-mounted indoor head. Perfect for a room addition, garage, basement, or any space needing independent temperature control. Installed in under a day.

Multi-Zone System

One outdoor unit powers 2–5 indoor heads in different rooms. Each room has independent control. More cost-effective than running separate single-zone systems throughout your home.

Concealed Duct Unit

Air handler hidden in a ceiling or soffit with short duct runs to grilles. Completely invisible installation — nothing visible in the room. Ideal for open-concept spaces and high-end renovations.

When a Ductless Mini-Split is the Right Choice

Not every home needs or can have central ductwork. Mini-splits solve problems that traditional HVAC can't.

Home Additions & Sunrooms

Extending ductwork into an addition is expensive and often impractical. A single-zone ductless unit conditions the new space independently — usually installed in one day with minimal disruption to the rest of your home.

Older Toronto Homes Without Ducts

Many pre-1960s Toronto homes were built with radiators or baseboards — no ductwork at all. A multi-zone mini-split system gives you full home heating and cooling without the major renovation of installing new ducts throughout the house.

Garages, Basements & Workshops

One head unit conditions an otherwise unconditioned space. Year-round comfort for a home gym, workshop, or finished basement — without having to extend your central system or run separate electric baseboard heaters.

Ductless Mini-Split Brands We Install

We recommend based on your specific application — heating-dominant, cooling-dominant, or year-round comfort.

Mitsubishi Electric

The gold standard for cold-climate ductless. Mitsubishi Hyper Heat units maintain 100% heating capacity to -15°C. Quiet, reliable, and widely regarded as the best in class for Ontario winters. Our first recommendation for heating-dominant applications.

Daikin & Bosch

Daikin offers excellent reliability and energy efficiency across their full lineup. Bosch Climate 5000 and 8000 series are cold-climate rated to -25°C. Both brands are strong performers in the GTA market with excellent warranty support.

LG & Samsung

LG Art Cool and Samsung Wind-Free series combine performance with modern design. Good options where aesthetics matter — slimline indoor heads that blend with the room. Best for cooling-dominant applications or mild-climate supplemental heating.

Ductless Mini-Split Questions

A single-zone system runs $3,200–$5,500 installed. Multi-zone for 3–4 rooms runs $7,000–$12,000. Cold-climate premium brands cost more upfront but perform better in GTA winters — we recommend them for primary heating.
With a cold-climate model like the Mitsubishi Hyper-Heating, yes — full output to -15°C, still functional at -25°C. We always recommend cold-climate models for primary heating use in Ontario. Standard models are fine for supplemental cooling but not ideal for heating through a GTA winter.
Single-zone = one outdoor unit connected to one indoor head. Multi-zone = one outdoor unit connected to 2–5 indoor heads in different rooms, each independently controlled. Multi-zone is more cost-effective than running separate single-zone systems in every room.
Single-zone: typically 4–6 hours, done in one day. Multi-zone for 3–4 rooms: usually a full day. No ductwork to run — just the lineset and electrical connections between the indoor and outdoor units.
A well-maintained mini-split lasts 15–20 years. Annual filter cleaning and a professional service every 2–3 years (coil cleaning, refrigerant check, electrical inspection) are the main maintenance requirements. Mitsubishi and Daikin have particularly strong reliability records in Ontario's climate.
Cold-climate mini-splits (Mitsubishi Hyper Heat, Bosch, Daikin) maintain full heating output to -15°C and function to -25°C. Toronto rarely sustains temperatures below -20°C for extended periods. Standard mini-splits without a cold-climate designation lose efficiency significantly below -10°C — we recommend cold-climate rated units for any primary heating application in Ontario.
No — not legally in Ontario. Refrigerant handling requires a licensed refrigeration mechanic. The electrical disconnect and wiring require a licensed electrician or certified HVAC contractor. Improper installation voids manufacturer warranties and your homeowner's insurance. DIY mini-split installs are one of the most common calls we get for repairs.
Single-zone: one outdoor unit connected to one indoor head — conditions one room or space. Multi-zone: one outdoor unit connected to 2–5 indoor heads, each in a different room with independent temperature control. Multi-zone is more efficient than running separate single-zone units, and only requires one penetration through your exterior wall per zone. Most Toronto multi-zone systems run 2–4 zones.
