Here's a recent job from our crew — a clean before-and-after that shows exactly the kind of upgrade we do across Toronto and the GTA. The homeowner had an aging gas tank water heater and a tired old boiler taking up space and gas; we replaced both with a single high-efficiency Navien combi boiler.
The Challenge
The basement had the classic old setup: a bulky gas storage water heater beside an aging boiler, with corroded piping and wasted floor space. The system still ran, but it was inefficient, near the end of its life, and a candidate for a mid-winter failure. The homeowner wanted more space, lower bills, and reliable hot water — without two separate appliances.
What We Installed
We removed the old boiler and tank water heater and installed a wall-mounted Navien NCB condensing combi boiler — one compact unit that handles both the home's heating and its on-demand domestic hot water. We rebuilt the near-boiler piping cleanly on a new board, ran proper PVC venting, set the gas and condensate, and commissioned the system. As with every gas job, we pulled the permit and arranged the TSSA inspection.
The Result
A tidy, modern, high-efficiency system: reclaimed floor space, a cleaner mechanical layout, lower gas consumption, and continuous hot water with no storage tank. The kind of clean, code-compliant install we're proud to put our name on — and exactly the work hiding behind our 5.0★ reviews.
Considering the Same Upgrade?
If you have an aging boiler and a separate water heater, a combi conversion is one of the best upgrades available — see our combi boiler installation page or our Navien combi page for details, costs, and sizing. We'll assess your setup in person and give you a fixed written quote.
